Winter is on its way down here in the Southern Hemisphere, I say as I blog whilst wearing a ridiculous amount of layers under a mink blanket. Winter is my favourite season, but sometimes the cold can get a bit too much to handle. Being a student who lives with someone who has only recently stopped being a student, we’re not down with the ways of heating our home… so we find ways to heat ourselves. Hence the layers. I’m a motherfucking ogre!
One of my favourite ways to heat myself is with hot drinks. Coffee is usually my go-to hot beverage, because it serves two purposes (heat and alertness!), but I’m a fan of hot chocolate too. Especially Nutella hot chocolate.
I feel a little ashamed to be posting this as a recipe, because it’s the easiest thing to make EVER. Unless you’re really that terrible at melting chocolate & hazelnut spread in a pot of warm milk.

A cup of milk1 per person partaking in the deliciousness.
A tablespoon of Nutella (or no brand subsitute2) per cup of milk.
Method
1. Pour milk into a saucepan on high heat.
2. Add Nutella.
3. Stir until fully melted, but don’t let the milk boil.
4. Pour into mug(s).
5. ENJOY!
Simple! Just don’t walk away from the pot, because you may end up with a burnt hot chocolate and a ruined pot… and that just ain’t cool.
- Whichever kind of milk you prefer. I use whole milk.
- Like I used. Shh!
