It might seem a little weird that “someone like me” doesn’t have any tattoos, but I am sadly tattoo-free. Entirely because I’ve just never had the money to actually get any. That doesn’t stop me from having ideas about what I’d like to get done though… and posting them here will probably provide me with a little more motivation to find the funds to get them done! So here are the five tattoos I’d really like to get.
This is the tattoo I’ve wanted for the longest. Basically, it represents me in pretty major way. The hand gesture is “too much metal for one hand”, and the rainbow is pretty self-evident if you’re reading this at my blog (rather than via a feed reader). I have a pretty intense love of both metal and rainbows. I would probably get this on what Sam refers to as my “hump1”.
My fondness for Harley Quinn is also somewhat evident in the fact that my blog is essentially named after her and one of my rats is named after her as well. I just really like the idea of have a little set of Harley’s diamond pattern somewhere on my body. I’m not sure exactly where on my body yet, but because I intend for this tattoo to be fairly small, it’ll probably be somewhere more visible than the others.
This is the Strapping Young Lad logo, which I can pretend is a generic Chinese character meaning *insert amusing word here* to those who would have no idea who SYL are. By the way, they’re one of Devin Townsend’s bands, and no, I don’t think getting a band tattoo is a bad idea. Especially one as cool as this. I would probably get this one as an upper arm tattoo, but I’d have to work on getting rid of my batwings first!
This is a stylised version of the Devin Townsend Project logo, which appeared on one of the covers of Addicted!. It’d probably a bit difficult for a tattoo artist to do exactly like this, but I love the crayon-y rainbow look. If I couldn’t get this, I’d probably just get a basic black version of it. Yep, two Devin Townsend-related tattoos! I’d probably get this one on the opposite arm from the SYL tatt for balance.
This is a psychology symbol made to look a little less boring, and even somewhat “devilish” which is more suited to me and my personality. Although I may not ever actually get to work in the field, psychology has been and always will be a HUGE part of my life, so it makes sense to get a tattoo which represents that. I would most likely get this tattooed on my left boob… as in close to my heart. OH THE CHEESE!
Other tattoo ideas I have include some kind of representation of the number 5, because it’s a number that seems to come up a lot in life; paw prints representing the pets I’ve had (past, present and future), which is something my sister already has, but I’m sure she won’t mind me leeching her idea; and WHEN I’ve finally recovered from my illnesses, ribbons representing them.
Do you have or want any tattoos? I’m super interested in what other people have/want. Please share!
